Hi!
Well..if I am posting here..you have got to know I have done everything possible..and came up short.
Here's the Db2 error when I try and create the sample database:
SQL1084C Shared memory segments cannot be allocated. SQLSTATE=57019
Yes..I have looked at the logs..done tons of google searches..and I am now offically a expert on kernel settings.
Still..nothing. I don't mind continuing to learn with this..but..I've got to ask:
Is there something with the way openvz itself allocates memory fundamentally that would prevent this from working?
Thanks
Bryon

Hi!
Nope..not a one. In fact..it doesn't even touch them. I have installed big stuff before..and believe me..you know about it quick in good ole beancounters.
No..nothing fails. I ask what I did because it doesn't even seem to really *try* to work. I've looked at the logs and done searches..download monster manuals..I just was at a point where I really was beginning to believe it was simply something you could not do with a vps. I needed a break from it..I've spent way too much time as well.
For example..you cannot mount iso's like you do on the node.
It won't work. I don't why..it just won't. So..simple.
I mount the iso's o the node and transfer what I need to the vps.
That's just one example..I'm sure there are others.
Thanks
Bryon
