Hello all,

I'm newbie in OpenVZ, I want to ask about some process in OpenVZ
Is yum update dangerous for openvz?
Because, after update & reboot server, I cannot start all VPS Container.
I check dir /proc/vz, but has gone...
I check /vz/root/ all directory still there..
But if I check CTID inside /vz/root/101, the result 0

I try to start or stop CTID 101, failed because /proc/vz has gone T_T
# vzctl start 101
Directory /proc/vz not found, assuming non-OpenVZ kernel
Container init failed: Cgroup is not mounted

Help me please... Sad

Kernel Linux 2.6.32-504.3.3.el6.x86_64
OS CentOS release 6.6 (Final)
with OpenVZ Web Panel

I try to start openvz but failed

/sbin/service vz start
Running kernel is not an OpenVZ kernel

And I check directory /proc/vz not found

For package kernel installed

# rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64
libreport-plugin-kerneloops-2.0.9-21.el6.centos.x86_64
vzkernel-2.6.32-042stab094.8.x86_64
dracut-kernel-004-356.el6.noarch
abrt-addon-kerneloops-2.0.8-26.el6.centos.x86_64
kernel-headers-2.6.32-504.3.3.el6.x86_64
kernel-firmware-2.6.32-504.3.3.el6.noarch
kernel-2.6.32-504.3.3.el6.x86_64
vzkernel-2.6.32-042stab090.4.x86_64

Must I uninstall openVZ first?

To uninstall openVZ, at first search for packages installed for open vz

# rpm -qa | grep vz

These packages are most probably owned by OpenVZ.

Then rpm -e "Those packages" for eg:

rpm -e ovzkernel vzctl vzquota vzpkg vztmpl-fedora-core-4 vztmpl-centos-4 vztmpl-fedora-core-3

Then install OpenVZ again, and then restore Dump CT file?

What should I do?

How to do it?
Can you tell me what the command and how to edit it?
Must I remove kernel-2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64 ?

Here is my server kernel boot grub

# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.
# root (hd0,0)
# kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/mapper/vg_pegasus-lv_root
# initrd /initrd-[generic-]version.img
#boot=/dev/sdb

default=0
timeout=5
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

If I uninstall openVZ, Is it safe for directory vz/dump? Or I must move to another directory first?
