After Debian 7.6 was released i updated, and dist-upgrade... now i have errors with restarting the container.

[-(/)-]:shutdown -r now
shutdown: Unable to shutdown system

I also get this error.
[-(/)-]:initctl list
initctl: Unable to connect to Upstart: Failed to connect to socket /com/ubuntu/upstart: Connection refused

Has any one else come across these errors? i cannot seem to find any fixes.

The node is Centos 6.5 & kernel 2.6.32-042stab090.5
