I'm not sure how to do patch submissions, so I'll just post here.

On the rhel6/042stab057.1 kernel, tcp networking doesn't work on the card:
ServerEngines Corp. Emulex OneConnect 10Gb NIC (be3)

ICMP does work fine. Looking at the patches, networking was working correctly in 0.37, our guess is that this most likely has to do with changes with CONFIG_NET_POLL_CONTROLLER in the bridge and bond code.

We tried cherry picking the patch for NET_POLL on benet from here:
www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg182735.html (can't post links)

That unfortunately didn't work. What did work was merging in the new driver:
h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescriptio n.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesI d=4091412&prodNameId=4091432&swEnvOID=4095&swLan g=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-afd2c5e0c3134fe a9903352492 (can't post links)

With the new driver, tcp does work. I'm not sure if any other network cards are affected since 0.37. Should I attach a patch, post in bugzilla, or is this post enough?

Thanks.

Hi,

most probably this is a https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=837230

we've already fixed it, the kernel with the fix will be available a bit later.
Please give it a try with the kernel >= 2.6.32-042stab058.5 when it
's available.

For now as a workaround you can take a benet driver from older kernel, compile it for the kernel you are using at the moment and this will work.

Hope that helps.

If your problem is solved - please, report it!
It's even more important than reporting the problem itself...
