So this is the same technology used by SWSoft without the bells and whistles and only for linux?

Is that basically the intent or do you see it branching off into more of a new ideas type thing.

Yes, this is the same technology, and even the same kernel and most of the tools are the same (the only exception is template tools, i.e. vzpkg).

Differences from the regular Virtuozzo can be found here and here.
