Hi openvz-community,
is somebody actually using the precompiled kernel-rpm's for ubuntu? in a different post, one of the developers suggested that that shouldn't be a problem and "alien" does a good job converting the rpm into a deb-file, though you have to think about creating your own initramfs on newer ubuntu-versions.
one thing that immediately caught my eye: that the manually compiled feoktistov- and standard ubuntu kernels have lvm2-support directly compiled into the kernel while using the RHEL-rpm i had to add the dm_mod to /etc/modules.
Can anyone share experiences using the more recent RHEL6-kernels for ubuntu/debian based distributions.
Another thing, probably completely unrelated though: After vzrestoring a dump on this machine, i have new processes called kthreadd/112, khelper/112, and nfsiod/112 (112 being the nodes ID) that are not present on any of my other openvz-machines.
thanks a lot for sharing,
joe
