I have a Dell PE2950 with a PERC 6/i running Centos 5. I had been running ovzkernel-2.6.18-164.11.1.el5.028stab068.5 fine for over 180 days. I updated the kernel to ovzkernel-2.6.18-194.17.1.el5.028stab070.7 (the latest) during a maintenance reboot. A new LSI MegaRaid 9260 8i card was also installed during the maintenance.
It has crashed with a kernel panic 3 times in 4 days. The console (see attached screenshot) shows the error was in the megaraid_sas driver.
I also found a thread on the Parallels Virtuozzo forums with a similar issue. vzup2date RH5 Kernel 2.6.18-028stab070.2 Launched with warnings. Note: I have both SAS and SATA drives.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is my problem with the new card or with the new kernel? I've switched back to the old kernel to see if that can survive longer than a day.
