Hi, I've checked this forum and found some problems that look similar, but none of them helped me to resolve my issue.

I am running gentoo and I've tried to install Debian 5.0 from cache downloaded from link found on OpenVZ wiki.

Here is the output:
dell ~ # uname -a
Linux dell 2.6.32-openvz-belyayev.1dell #3 SMP Mon Jun 7 14:04:52 CEST 2010 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
dell ~ # cd /vz/template/cache/
dell cache # ls

I've also included some additional output which could help.

After these commands system crashes (becomes unusual), maybe because of kernel panic, memory lack or something similar. I can't check this because I have only SSH access.
