Hello,
I use an openSUSE 11.0 virtual server I bought from a provider, on a hardware node I obviously don't have access to.

I want to enable 2nd level quotas on my VPS, and I'm here because my provider's support staff hasn't been able to help me so far.

First of all, I requested 2nd level quotas to be enabled on my container, and they have apparently been enabled. I can see the aquota.user and aquota.group in my root directory. I have followed all tutorials in this world to enable quotas on my container.

When I run "quotaon -a" I get a permission denied error

Quote:

quotaon: using //aquota.group on /dev/simfs [/]: Permission denied
quotaon: using //aquota.user on /dev/simfs [/]: Permission denied

If I try to enable quotas from Webmin, I just get the same page back.

I contacted support and told them about the problem. They checked and confirmed me that quotas are actually enabled on the virtual machine, but I can't still enable them from my shell.

What do you suggest me to do?

Thank you.
