I've got OpenVZ running on Gentoo, and I'm using Gentoo VPSs within it. Basically, I want to test out some software, but don't have a play system, nor do I bork my happy system.

Everything installed properly, all seems to be well. I first used SSH to connect to the VPS, and started to sync the local package management system with the main Gentoo one. After a few seconds, it hung. Killed the SSH connection, too. Had to restart the VPS to get SSH back. The second time I used vzctl enter to get a handle to the system. I ran the sync again, this time it succeeded. After that, I started an upgrade to bring the VPS up to date with the newer packages. This is when I started to notice the network problem.

Whenever I try to download files, it just hangs. I can CTRL-C the app, and try again. It'll snag a little bit more, then hang.

Here's an example of what I see (using wget):
Length: 28,254,232 (27M), 27,383,223 (26M) remaining [application/x-tar]
6% [+> ] 1,845,163 --.--K/s ETA 3:15:27

Any ideas?
