Another quick update.. all of the above thread info with AMD was where autofs running on the physical machine's OS and amd running on the VEs.

When I changed the physical machine to use amd as well, the physical machine still works but now none of the VEs can mount my homedir (which is worse than before). The VEs show the "blank" condition where none of my files are shown but there aren't any errors either.

As an experiment, I did a "modprobe autofs4" on the physical machine but that didn't do anything though the VEs would then show autofs in their /proc/filesystems
