I wrote a wiki page in http://wiki.openvz.org/Install_OpenVZ_on_a_x86_64_system_Cen tos-Fedora with the workaround I talked about, to make vzpkgcache, vzyum and vzrpm to work on x86_64 CPU with a Centos distro (or Fedora).
All the process is explained line by line, but to simplify everything, I also wrote a small script that installs openvz utilities, OS template, and applies the patches automatically.
