Does NIS work with OpenVZ?
ypbind just hangs when I start it:

# ./init.d/ypbind start
Binding to the NIS domain: [ OK ]
Listening for an NIS domain server.....

In /var/log/messages I get this:
ypbind[24574]: broadcast: RPC: Timed out.

I have ypbind and yp-tools installed. The portmap is running. The
hostname has the necessary permissions on the server. "domainname"
returns the correct server name.

I have the NISDOMAIN set in /etc/sysconfig/network

In /etc/yp.conf I have:
domain xxxxxx broadcast
This works on non-virtual machines.
I also tried setting a server name, but it still hangs.

Our network uses an unusual netmask: 255.255.248.0
Could that be causing a problem?

There's nothing on the wiki about NIS.

My virtual machines are CentOS 4.
