Hi All,

I see that OpenVZ recommends the 2.6.8 linux kernel for OVZ. My question
is: Is there any problem installing a kernel with 2.6.8-X..
I am looking to upgrade my kernel and I see versions for linux-2.6.8 and
linux-2.6.8-1... Just wanted to know if there would be any problems
installing any 2.6.8-x version of the 2.6.8 branch.

Thanks - Joe!

OpenVZ uses its OWN (!) kernel. Stable series of OpenVZ kernel is 2.6.8
linux kernel with OpenVZ specific modifications and bug fixes.
Before installing OpenVZ you can have any 2.6... kernel on your node.
After installing OpenVZ you should boot using OpenVZ kernel (for example
2.6.8-022stab078.14) to use OpenVZ features.

HTH,
Vasily.
