I have the following problem.
The system was running since 1 year fine without any problems.
Today I had to restart the Host server.
There are about 10 VE which are running well and are startup without any problem. Only one (for sure the important one) does not startup. It's starting, but then it's stopping suddenly, after one or two seconds. Anyidea?

sudo vzctl start 218
Starting VE ...
VE is unmounted
VE is mounted
Adding IP address(es): XXX.40.202.XX
Setting CPU units: 1000
Configure meminfo: 1966080000
Set hostname: xx.xx.xx
VE start in progress...

same information in vzctl.log.
In syslog I get:
Jan 12 16:49:39 Ubuntu-804-hardy-LTS-64-minimal kernel: [ 5550.260412] CT: 218: started
Jan 12 16:49:40 Ubuntu-804-hardy-LTS-64-minimal kernel: [ 5552.100947] CT: 218: stopped

Linux Ubuntu-804-hardy-LTS-64-minimal 2.6.24-25-openvz #1 SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux
vzctl version 3.0.22

can you see any log entries in ct log directory:

like:

% (sudo) less /var/lib/vz/private/218/var/log/daemon.log

Bye,
Thorsten

no... it's a quite normal ubuntu. nothing special on it. Apache, mySQL, Exim4, postfix...
Exim4 made some trouble the last days... Maybe that's the reason...

But now... the host system is broken too, unfortunately and I'm waiting for the remote console access. And I ordered a Pizza to test which is faster... :-)

maybe it's a hardware or filesystem issue...

Thanks for the tip with the daemon log. I didn't checked it. System is currently rebooting (since 15 minutes). I will wait additional 15 minutes and try to get the info from daemon.log using the rescue system.
