I have linux distro that is built on the premise that there is an eth0 being watched/used for monitoring. I have a few 3rd party update scripts also calling for eth0. I get chocked up seeing everything in red and saying offline in the default 'status' command when if only I had an eth0, it would say everything is responding.

Is there anyway to link vmbr0 for example to eth0 on CentOS?

Distro: PBX in a Flash based off CentOS 4.3

Hi,

not tested, only a idea:

- udev rule to rename eth0 to e.g. real_eth0
- brctl addbr eth0 ; brctl addif eth0 real_eth0

bye,
Thorsten
