Hi,

I would like to know if anyone get the same problem than me. Even if I active the swap (with vzctl set id --meminfo none --save), I never have the /proc/swaps in my vz. (The original problem is that I need it for Oracle). However, the command free -m showed me the good swap info. How could I solve that problem ?

Ubuntu Hardy
Kernel: 2.6.24-24-openvz (also tried with 2.6.24-17-openvz)
vzctl version: 3.0.22 (also tried with 3.0.23)


A test that I made:
sudo vzctl create 203 --ostemplate ubuntu-8.04-amd64-minimal --hostname test
sudo vzctl set 203 --meminfo none --save
sudo vzctl start 203

Result: no /proc/swaps file.

Let me know if you need more info.

you need a stable OpenVZ kernel, since 028stab059.6:

snapped out the changelog:

[...]
* Added UB_SWAPINFO resource (for Oracle in CTs, needs vzctl >= 3.0.24)
[...]
-> diff-ubc-swappages-resource-20081101

and the vzctl >= 3.0.24, or git version ->http://git.openvz.org/?p=vzctl;a=commit;h=593a9fbe97f26c1c872f7cfea9f252bc6e9db0e6 )

I'm not sure what kernel version "028stab059.6" is supposed to be.

I've also did a "git clone git://git.openvz.org/pub/vzctl", compiled/installed.. but I still don't see the --swappages parameter. and there is still no /proc/swaps

I'm proably missing something... probably the kernel version.
