Starting VPS ...
VPS is mounted
Adding IP address(es): 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
Setting CPU limit: 80
Setting CPU units: 15533
Set hostname: some.host
Unable to start init, probably incorrect template
VPS start failed
Stopping VPS ...
VPS was stopped
vzquota : (error) Quota off syscall for id 111: Device or resource busy
vzquota setlimit -f failed [3]
VPS is unmounted

This just started happening, nothing has changed. The template is correct I've double checked it quite a few times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please note I changed the ips and hostname for protection purposes.

Doug

ls -l /vz/private/<VPSID>/sbin/init
ls -l /vz/private/<VPSID>/etc/init
ls -l /vz/private/<VPSID>/bin/init

and post they output here.

Thanks.

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 31184 Oct 7 2004 /vz/private/111/sbin/init*

root@box:~ #ls -l /vz/private/111/etc/init
ls: /vz/private/111/etc/init: No such file or directory

root@box:~ #ls -l /vz/private/111/bin/init
ls: /vz/private/111/bin/init: No such file or directory

init is located in /sbin

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 31184 Oct 7 2004 /vz/private/111/sbin/init*

And you maybe thinking of initab in /etc

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1423 Jun 21 18:43 /vz/private/111/etc/inittab

Quote:

/vz/private/111/sbin/init*

Sorry, but what does asterisk in the end mean?
Is the name of the file "init*"?

ok. Let's do the following:

1) Try to run /vz/private/111/sbin/init
What you see?

2) Please, strace vzctl start:
strace -ff -o vzctl.out vzctl start 111

And attach files vzctl.out.* here.

3) And what template do you use? =)

Thank

you want me to run the init file from the vps on the host machine? Any chance you can hope on icq or irc? it would be much easier.
