Hello,

I have to server's and I want to achieve redundancy between them so if one dies, the other will take over. I will have 1 open vz container on each replicated, and if one of the boxes dies, I want the other to automatically run the vzctl xxx start command.

Is this possible using heartbeat or some script?

Regards

Parallels Virtuozzo Containers (a commercial version of OpenVZ) provides the ability to deploy active-passive cluster solution based on RedHat Cluster Suite technology.

In case of OpenVZ I would like you to take a look at the following page http://wiki.openvz.org/HA_cluster_with_DRBD_and_Heartbeat . I hope it may be useful to you or will give you some hint.

I've set that up before, but is it really necessary when all I want to do is execute one command to start up the container if the primary box goes down? I was planning on doing that and just rsyncing the data between the containers..

Ideally what I am trying to achieve is redundant hosting for apache, mysql and qmail.

Any other suggestions or do you think I should stick with drbd and HA ?
