Hi

I am putting together a script which requires me to be able to determine from the VE, which host it is running on.

I can run a traceroute, and grep the second hop, but I am hoping there is a proc or sys file I can easily read to find this info.

Any ideas?

Right way.

No special proc/sys files for this.

I have settled for writing a script which runs during vps.mount, which writes the hostname of the HN to /etc/vzhost on the guest.

I can easily cat that while the machine is running.

Smile

you did not say that you have access to the Hardware Node. Smile
Yes, if this is true - this will work.
