Kernel panic [message #28112]

We rebooted the node and we suddenly got this kernel panic.

What I can understand is that vpsid 140 used time in vps. And while reboot it was not able to sync.
Can anyone interpret the screenshot?
Is it good idea that VPS owner can use it's own time for vps.

I have filed a bug #844, see http://bugzilla.openvz.org/show_bug.cgi?id=844

Please register in our bugzilla (if you haven't done that yet) and add your email to Cc: list for this bug.

Kernel guys will take a look as soon as on Tuesday (Monday is a public holiday here).

In the meanwhile, there's a chance that it could be a hardware issue; see http://wiki.openvz.org/Hardware_testing for info about how to test your box.

PS it would have been better to copy-paste the oops text so we don't have to retype it.

I have no idea but it happened 2 times with us while rebooting the node.
This panic is FEAR FACTOR Very Happy

I don't want to see that Message ever ever again.
Ok if you tell me how to reproduce it I can try it for you now.

no one is protected from bugs :/

according to oops messages it's application called 'ghc-6.8.2'.
Find out the binary inside VPS using "find / -name ghc*" command.

Next, you have to understand what command line options are given to this command when it's executed.
If your user inserted it to some shutdown script try "grep -r '\<ghc' /etc" to find the caller.

So when you found what the binary is and how it's executed - it's a matter of try only Smile
