I can't seem to get OpenVPN to work under OpenVZ. I get this error in the logs.

Sat Mar 8 09:53:25 2008 us=186253 OpenVPN 2.1_rc4 x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu [SSL] [LZO2] [EPOLL] built on Apr 26 2007

I know nothing about OpenVPN. This is for someone else's use. hoping for a quick and easy fix.

Also - I'm running the new 2.6.24 kernel and openvpn does work in the host environment.

Hi,

1. Are there another error messages or something?
2. What parameters do you use to start openvpn?

P.S. I suppose you've read this article
http://wiki.openvz.org/VPN_via_the_TUN/TAP_device
P.P.S. Actually I also know not so much about OpenVPN

1. Create in VE device /dev/net/tun
# ls -l /dev/net/tun
crw------- 1 root root 10, 200 Feb 20 10:38 /dev/net/tun

2. Add to VE config file:
DEVICES="c:10:200:rw "

3. Restart VE

OS: ASPLinux Server 5, ASPLinux 12

Hi,

you need CAP_NET_ADMIN capability inside VE.
vzctl set VEID --capability net_admin:on --save
