Hi All,
I am having some problems with certain ve that shows UBC counter failure counts. I do a vzcfgvalidate to check if all is o.k and it reports all success (no problem) - Even though I see errors. I am wondering how effective/valid using the vzcfgvalidate command. based on my experience it seems to report bogus/invalid info.

Also, I run into cases where I adjust a UBC resource with a failed count and my application in the VE start works BUT the error counter never goes back to zero unless I reboot the VPS. At times, even that don't work and I have to reboot the entire HW node to clear those counters. I'd appreciate any comments regarding above.

1. vzcfgvalidate is not a magic wand. All it does is checking if all the parameters makes sense relative to each other, i.e. this set of parameters is consistent -- as described in http://wiki.openvz.org/UBC_consistency_check. In no case could it check if this configuration is valid for the applications you run in a particular VE.

2. For a lifetime of a VE (and the appropriate beancounter) failcnt is only increasing. If you want to reset it, see http://wiki.openvz.org/UBC_failcnt_reset

Hope that helps
