Lets say i put all users into vpss to secure HN.
How can i check for nonlegacy processes/open ports now ? The legacy processes inside vpss and in HN look identical .

Also all ports are shown like open on 0.0.0.0 , though they actually restricted to ips of vps.

So - the question - how can i distinguish vps and HN processes / ports / etc (looking from HN) ?

You can close ports on HN via iptables (and probably change default ports). Then you can look at the processes/ports inside VE by using "vzctl exec" command.

Also you can translate PID -> VEnum via /proc/<pid>/status file,

$ grep envID /proc/self/status
envID: 9027

Thanks , very helpful .
main point you cant do "vzctl exec 0 ", so /proc envID is solution.

vzps also ok,saves time for writing script , but for ports i will need to write script anyway , getting pid via lsof and eventually VEID.
