I see there is a new version of vzctl.
The current debian etch version that comes with 2.6.18-openvz-686 is 3.0.11.

Is there a new debian package with this vzctl 3.0.18?

How can I have this new version (3.0.18) with my current 2.6.18-openvz-686? Is it compatible? Do I have to build it from source?

Thanks.
Gustavo.

Hi Gustavo,

you can use the prebuild and/or source package of vzctl from http://debian.systs.org/

direkt link: http://debian.systs.org/debian/pool/openvz/v/vzctl/

or add to apt/sources.list:
deb http://debian.systs.org/ etch openvz

Btw, this linux-kernel is outdated, it's a build with OpenVZ patch 028test018.1, the new stable kernels are build with patch 028stab035.1.

On debian repro at debian.systs.org linux-image builded with offical OpenVZ kernel-config are avail, too.
(See info at http://wiki.openvz.org/Installation_on_Debian#precompiled_ke rnel_images_at_debian.systs.org )

Thanks for your prompt reply.

When you say:
"Btw, this linux-kernel is outdated, it's a build with OpenVZ patch 028test018.1, the new stable kernels are build with patch 028stab035.1.
"
Are you refering to the kernel I am currently using, or to the kernel I would be downloading from the URL you mentioned?

Best regards,
Gustavo.

Thorsten,

Thanks.
