I was wondering if openvz avoids context switching when delivering network packets to a VE. Seems like this is an issue with xen. Some interesting references:

In OpenVZ delivering of network packets to VE is almost the same process, as in native Linux kernel. And yes, we avoid excessive context switches - this is one of the advantages of OS-level virtualization.
