i'm trying to upgrade a running ovz kernel-smp with the newest one from FTP and during install it complains there is no software raid1 extension built into the kernel. I hope i'm understanding the error properly:

Running Transaction
Installing: ovzkernel-smp ######################### [1/1]
WARNING: No module ata_piix found for kernel 2.6.9-023stab043.2-smp, continuing anyway
WARNING: No module raid1 found for kernel 2.6.9-023stab043.2-smp, continuing anyway

Installed: ovzkernel-smp.i686 0:2.6.9-023stab043.2

I am in fact, using both of these modules, ata_piix and raid1. any ideas?

very common question on the forum. you can safely reboot, those drivers are built into the kernel rather then being modular. mkinitrd has no way of knowing that apparently, and is afraid that you will boot into a non-working kernel for your hardware. since the drivers are built into the kernel, you won't have any such problems.

Thanks Rick!

I tried searching the forum but found a lot of unrelated answers.

Thanks again!
