I'm seeing this error when trying to run basically any vzyum command on any of the test virtual servers I've created. They are all just basic centos-4-minimal based servers.

Am I missing something?

# vzyum 100 install httpd
ERROR: VPS 100 can not be used with vzpkg utilities.


Repeat as required for any vzyum command or package or virtual server... :-/

Looks like there is no OSTEMPLATE variable in config for the given VPS (/etc/sysconfig/vz-scripts/<VPSID>.conf).

I wonder how you have created this VPS? vzctl create adds OSTEMPLATE to config automatically.

Oh no, sorry I'm mistaken. Looks like there is an OSTEMPLATE variable set, but its value contains slashes.

It should not. In your case, it should be something like this:
OSTEMPLATE="centos-4-i386-minimal"

I created the VPS by just using vzctl create as shown in the guide - this is my first working install so I haven't had the chance to try anything more complicated.... Smile
