Hello,

I do some test hoping to make a VPS run kernel mode PPPoE, but I found that there seems to have a lot of problems.

Firstly I found that the RHEL5 kernel (ovzkernel-2.6.18-8.el5.028stab027.1) has ppp module, but it does not work for VPS until apply this patch: http://bugzilla.openvz.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268

Later on, I try to run the kernel mode pppoe (the kernel has it turned on) and found that it only report:

pppd[5738]: Failed to create PPPoE socket: Address family not supported by protocol

I found that the /proc/net/pppoe does not exist inside the VPS, is that reason why it cannot run the pppoe module inside a VPS?

Anyond kind to tell me if it is possible to make kernel mode pppoe works? Thanks!

Best Regards,
Vincent

Feel free to file a bug to http://bugzilla.openvz.org/ for pppoe in VE support.
