Hi,

Is there any profiling tool (like Xenoprof for Xen) for OpenVZ ? Pointers to any tools would be great.

Thanks,
Pradeep

What's wrong with standard tools, like oprofile?

Oprofile, as I understand it, monitors the various events and logs them. It does not differentiate between different containers. Xenoprof has modifications to Oprofile that let me get data for individual domains. I am wondering whether you guys have any tools ? For that matter, how do OpenVZ developers debug their container performance ?

Oprofile is enough for us. This is because of the technology differences - Xen containers has different kernels while OpenVZ ones - only one common.

But probably it is not a bad idea to patch oprofile to differentiate containers. Need to think about that.

Thanks for info!
