Hello,

I am trying to use OpenVZ with ZFS as backend (I use ZFS for kvm virtualization and it works great, so I want to use it for OpenVZ too). So far I have found these options to do it with associated problems:

1. Create a dataset and store CT's private files on it using simfs.
This looks great, but it looks to me like simfs is becoming unsupported and a later update might break it for me. It looks like ploop is the recommended option.
2. Create a zvol, format it with ext4 (or whatever) and store the private files using ploop.
This looks too complicated (CT filles-ploop-ext4-zvol-zfs) and if I need to change the disk size for the CT, I would need to change it multiple times (zvol, ext4, ploop). Ploop also seems to be unreliable (easier to get the data corrupted).

Which is the recommended option? It looks to me like dataset+simfs should be better, if not for the uncertain support status for simfs. Is there a way to use a zvol directly for the CT storage without ploop in between?
