Database Server just to be reached internal [message #51231]

Hi,

I want to setup a db server that is just reachable at a private 192.168.x.x address.
What do I have to look at?

Just setting a private IP at my webservers and same subnet ip at the db server?
(192.168.0.1 at webserver additional IP and 192.168.0.2 at the db server - and pointing to that internal IP from my webserver?)

Is it that easy?

You could add a layer of security: add iptables rules on the HN so that it doesn't accept any connections from eth0 to 192.168.x.x
Just in case 192.168.x.x is routed to, or present on the local LAN.
