Hi,

did anyone manage to install Confixx on an openvz VPS?

The Confixx Installation Manual for virtuozzo tells me to run

# sysctl -w kernel.vzprivrange="1 10000"

to create /proc/vz/hwinfo on the VPS. When running this command I keep getting:

# sysctl -w kernel.vzprivrange="1 10000"
error: 'kernel.vzprivrange' is an unknown key

Without the /proc/vz/hwinfo the registration of Confixx fails.

I am running openvz on Debian 64bit. VPS System is Suse9.3 64bit.

Thank you for your help
Ove

Do you use Virtuozzo or OpenVZ?
In OpenVZ there is no /proc/vz/hwinfo file...
This file persists only in Virtuozzo.

Hi,

as i understand you read `sysctl -w kernel.vzprivrange ...` instruction in Confixx Virtuozzo manual but not in openVZ. am i right ?

as solution, i think, you can use simple installation of Confixx in openVZ VPS as described in Confixx installation manuals.
