OpenVZ VPS installing failure [message #50729]

Hi all,

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 on my HP server,after the OpenVZ kernel is running on Ubuntu 10.04.Then I tried to install VPS on it, but I always get this error message, and after that, the server is frozen and I have to hard restart the server again.

Pls check the error in attach file.

If you followed this howtoforge article step by step than I would not be surprised by such errors.

probably I would recommend to read this article:
https://wiki.openvz.org/Install_kernel_from_RPM_on_Ubuntu_10 .04

but while reading this:
https://wiki.openvz.org/Install_kernel_from_RPM_on_Debian_6. 0

probably you can get some help from here:
https://wiki.openvz.org/Installation_on_Debian

otherwise please report vzctl,kernel versions.

please take a note that howtoforge article suggests to get vzctl from git. that means there can be bugs, better use released versions.

thanks, I did find the solution.

to solve this issue, just turn off the 'disk quota' feature, by setting the 'DISK_QUOTA=no' in the /etc/vz/vz.conf file, the path may vary according to your distro.
