Hello everyone,

My /var/log/vzctl.log file is displaying the following over and over...
2012-03-15T12:13:43-0400 vzctl : CT 3082 : Error in waitpid(3): No child processes
2012-03-15T12:13:43-0400 vzctl : CT 3082 : Error in waitpid(3): No child processes

2012-03-15T12:13:43-0400 vzctl : CT 4176 : Error in waitpid(3): No child processes

That's just for 2 containers, it does that for any container running. Once it reaches the last one, it pauses for about 5 seconds, then starts all over again.

It looks like it's been happening for awhile, but the logs have been increasing every month (my containers have also increased)

Nov - 115MB (since the 22nd)
Dec - 2.7GB
Jan - 4.3GB
Feb - 4.7GB
March - 2.1GB (15 days since log rotation)

How do I find out what the cause is and how do I go about fixing this?

OS: Debian Squeeze 6.0.4
Kernel: 2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64

Thanks!

According to this thread comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.altlinux.sysadmins/17447 they had a similar issue and was pointed to vzctl-3.0.26.2-alt2

Debian Squeeze uses 3.0.24-12 but I have another 2 systems using Squeeze and neither of them have this issue so I'm not sure...

I see I can download another vzctl @ wiki.openvz.org/Download/vzctl/

But I'm not sure how to install this (do I just move the files into the correct location? do I need to reboot after?) and if it will conflict with the rest of the Debian packages?

Would anyone know?
