No rush, but i am just wondering if FC6 will be supported any time soon. We are moving the majority of our servers to FC6 from FC3 this year.

Thanks,
Mark

You can:
1. Create a VE with FC 5
2. Update to FC 6 with yum
3. Tar VE 'private'
4. It's done Very Happy

Install the FC5 rpm
cd /vz/template/fedora-core
cp -a 5 6
cd 6/i386/config
#change yum.conf to fc6
perl -p -i -e 's/5/6/g' yum.conf
vzpkgcache -f

OK cool, I'll give this a try.

We have a set of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 machines too - what is the easiest way to support that? I can live without the disk space savings of templates if there is a way to copy my hard drive image over and just run it.

I tried this and it is complaining:

Unable to start init, probably incorrect template

sorry, what exactly you did?
1. check that you copied correctly, there should be file
/vz/private/<VEID>/bin/init which in you case is probably missing.
or you copied 64bit VE to 32bit OS.

Hello,

Just for the future, please, start a new thread if you state a new problem.
Doing this way helps other people to navigate through the forum and find
the information they seek for.

Thanks,
Vasily.
