I did a normal install on a fresh new clean Debian 3.2 (etch):
apt-get install kernel-patch-openvz vzctl vzquota

No Error... Nothing

I made a reboot and he loaded the following kernel:
uname -a
Linux debian3264m 2.6.16-2-amd64-k8-smp #1 SMP Fri Aug 18 21:10:33 CEST 2006 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I think it's not the OpenVZ-Kernel, but im not sure...

So, the real problem is, that OpenVZ doesn't start:
/etc/init.d/vz start
Starting OpenVZ: ..failed

What must i do that it starts correctly?

Hi,

I think your Hetzner DS need a update of it's bootloader config,
please update your /etc/lilo.conf.

Regards,
Thorsten

i did a update of the lilo.conf with simply exec "lilo"
because this doesn't work, i watched in /boot/ and found no kernel with "ovz" or something like that....
so i think the apt-pkg doesn't created the kernel correctly Sad

im now going to test if the pkgs from debian.systs.org are working on this machine with debian3.1 Confused

btw. why did you know that this is a kernel from hetzner? Very Happy

[UPDATE]
OpenVZ now works on Debian3.1 with deb-packages from debian.systs.org

kernel-patch-openvz is only the patch against debian kernel sources! You should read documentation that goes with this (kernel-patch-openvz) packet, that explains how to build ovz kernel.

HTH,
vass.
