Hi all,

Wondering if OpenVZ9 is still being developed or simply EOL already?

Because OpenVZ7 is still getting updates and such (thank you), but it seems OpenVZ9 hasn't received any kind of update since March 2023.
So it looks like OpenVZ9 isn't being worked on anymore? Maybe I am wrong and the current version of OpenVZ9 is rock-solid, but that's something I doubt.

If I check online downloads:
[DIR]	Parent Directory -

That's the latest version available. But that seems very old / outdated.

Don't get me wrong as OpenVZ7 is still great, however it's impossible to install e.g. AlmaLinux 9.x on it. We got still plenty of time before AlmaLinux 8.x. becomes EOL, however we still want to start testing.
Maybe someone can shed some light on the current situation and progress on OpenVZ9.

Thank you in advance!!

Regards,
HH

There have been recent commits to the project (including on a big one: improved cgroups support), but they haven't packaged them into either the factory or testing repo. Much like how v7 took about 9 months to get an update. You can see the progress here:

https://bitbucket.org/openvz/workspace/repositories/

In particular under vzkernel, the rh9 branches: https://bitbucket.org/openvz/vzkernel/commits

I just wish they'd interact a bit more with the OpenVZ community like they used to.
