Ok,

I switched from Fedora 16 to Debian Lenny following the instructions on your wiki. I downloaded the precreated template
for Suse per below:

root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzctl create 101 --ostemplate suse-11.4-x86
Creating container private area (suse-11.4-x86)
Performing postcreate actions
Container private area was created
root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzlist -a
CTID NPROC STATUS IP_ADDR HOSTNAME
101 - stopped - -
root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzctl set 101 --ipadd 192.168.0.10 --save
Saved parameters for CT 101
root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzctl set 101 --nameserver 192.168.0.1 --save
Saved parameters for CT 101
root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzctl start 101
Starting container ...
Container is mounted
Adding IP address(es): 192.168.0.10
Setting CPU units: 1000
File resolv.conf was modified
Container start in progress...
root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzctl exec 101 ps ax
Container is not running

# This is my kernel:
root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# uname -a
Linux openvz 2.6.32-5-openvz-686 #1 SMP Mon Jan 16 17:54:17 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux
root@openvz:/var/lib/vz/template/cache# vzlist -a
CTID NPROC STATUS IP_ADDR HOSTNAME
101 - stopped 192.168.0.10 -

Everytime, I check vzlist -a container 101 is stopped.
This happens the minute, I start it. I have destroyed and recreated it a few times.

I have this for my fdisk:

fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sda: 160.0 GB, 160041885696 bytes

I am running on ext3 sda5 Debian Lenny mounted on root,
sda7 is mounted ext3 to a /vz .

Note, when I create suggested symlink of
ln -s /var/lib/vz /vz

Then when I go to /vz, I have a directory structure of
/vz/vz/template/cache for where the ostemplates are. Doing it with and without the link, I still get the same result. I can create the container but it immediately stops.

Note, my main system is Ubuntu on /dev/sda2, that is where the
boot loader is and I am selecting the one for openvz kernel.

Thank you for any help you can provde.javascript:%20insertTag(document.post_form.msg_body,% 20'',%20'%20:p%20');

Sincerely,

Victor
