Hi there,

I am using hypervm and solusvm to create a template for an existing container. And I m wondering if I can do that in command line.

Let says I want to create a template for a container id 123. How would I do that in shell.

You may ask why? because I want to automate this process and make a back up.

Thanks.

Sure you can do it, it's quite simple. Just stop the VE in question and than tar gzip the contents of the /vz/private/VE_ID directory. That's it.

Make sure you don't include any additional directories in the archive - take a look at the contents of the existing templates and you'll see what I mean.

Also observe the naming convention used for the existing templates. The arch part should be something like x86_64, x86, i386, i586, etc., depending on what architcture does the VE have, of course.
