Hi,

I want to use the NFS server in VE.
My LinuxBox is Debian Squeeze with prebuild kernel.
I tried enabling nfsd using vzctl command. such as:
vzctl set CT --features nfsd:on --save

but, VE can not starting NFS daemon.
Not starting NFS kernel daemon: no support in current kernel. ... (warning).

I want to use updated non-RHEL patches.

regards,

Hey,

I'm using the Prebuilt RHEL5 Kernel from the Stable OpenVZ branch on my Debian Squeeze.

http :// wiki.openvz.org /Download/kernel/rhel5/028stab091.1

Download the right rpm according to your system and install it with alien -i /path/to/my/openvz-kernel.rpm. Alien will complain about missing Signatures, you can ignore that.

Afterwards run update-initramfs -k 2.6.18-238.12.1.el5.028stab091.1 (correct it with your downloaded kernel-version) and afterwards update-grub to let grub know the new Kernel+Initrd.

All you need to do know is reboot and make sure it boots in the right Kernel (maybe set a default-bootoption in grub or else...)

There u go Smile
