Hi *,

for my virtualization tests I would like to use an existing OpenSuse 10.1 (?) Server as an OpenVZ host.

Kernel Version is "2.6.25.5-1.1-default" (uname -r)

Problem is, the server runs production software too .. Oracle and JBOSS.

I am aware that this is not the very best idea, but I need a way to put my already virtualized (and testet) physical host containers to work step by step, container by container...

Is there a way?
As far as I understood from the docs I need to replace the current kernel for an new one; but can I install a new kernel without endangering the production software?

For tests the production software can surly be shut down temporarily.

Joachim
