Hi,

Is there a way to see the booting messages (output of init-scripts etc.) when starting a container?

Moreover, it's possible to
a) Redirect it for a specific container to a /dev/ttyN, /dev/ptyN or similar
b) Redirect all boot-messages to a file?

Regards,
divB

Hi,

you are not the first person who is asking about such a possibility.
Please try workarounds described in
http://forum.openvz.org/index.php?t=msg&th=1744&#msg _9449
BTW, the bug exists
http://bugzilla.openvz.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477

Thank you.

I've read all. Unfortunately I don't understand the bug report because the referring forum post is in Russia.

However, it's not that hard important for me. If it would have worked I would have logged the startup messages to /var/log/bootlog in the containers or /var/log/startup-$VEID.log on the host.

Regards,
divB

Sorry, I didn't keep it in mind.
Briefly speaking the guy wanted exactly the same thing as you asked in the first post.
