Hello,

I have a queston about the live migration feature of openVZ.
As I understand the 'vzmigrate' man page, the VPS is copied with
rsync from one host to the other. In my case, this would be
unnecessary because all the VPS in my setup lie on a SAN, which is
shared across all hosts. Is it possible to just copy the state of the
VPS, not the whole directory tree?

Regards,

If a single VPS is put on a separate partition (as it is done by most
virtualization solutions), then you can just replace rsync in vzmigrate
with mount/umount operations.
If you have more than one VPS inside the disk partition, then you will
be able to migrate all of them simultenously only.

Thanks,
Kirill
