Hello,

I often heard that setting the noatime flag for the filesystem can increase performance.

I also found out that OpenVZ has a "--notime" option with vzctl.

The man page says:
Quote:

--noatime yes|no
Sets noatime flag (do not update inode access times) on file system.

Is it necessary to set both the noatime flag on the /vz filesystem and the noatime option for VE?

Thank you,
Christoph

i would guess no.
but what stops you from verifying that issue yourself using stat?

LOL, I did, but I wasn't 100% sure, as I guess due to file caching the stat is not updated everytime I access the file.
