What do you exactly mean? I've this problem on about 20 VE's - they all run a normal debian image - nothing special.

"Privvmpages parameter allows controlling the amount of memory allocated by applications."

So please check your containers what software ist running and why needed so much memory, so please give more info what kind of software is running, an increase privvmpages ...

at the moment it is already set to 12GB and current value is only 1.1GB - i think this should be enough - not?

The following software runs:
qpsmtpd
qmail
stunnel
apache
proftpd
mysql5
mysql4
munin-node

The failcnt is also high directly after boot even when nobody has connected to the ve. Exactly the same image runs also fine on an old PIII with 512MB of RAM.
