Hi,

For my employer I would like to set up a NTP timeserver. However, this
must be done in a VPS since we don't want to use a new server for that.
While experimenting, we found that a VPS cannot set the time on its host
node. Is it in any way possible to give the VPS the rights to adjust the
time?

Kind regards,
Arjan Schrijver

Hi Arjan,

To set date in your vps, first adjust the time on Node and change the
timezone in VPS.

Have a look at page 64 in the OpenVZ User-Guide. You have to set the
capability for the VPS to alter the system time. Be aware that this
alters the system clock of the HW-Node and therefore for all VPS
running on that node.
