I have two boxes with Redhat AS4 installed. The openvz kernel is 2.6.18-ovz028test018.1
I need to update the kernel to kernel-2.6.18-ovz028stab021.1 for both boxes. But my expect is do not stop the VE for the update. So the problem is I have to do live migration between different kernel version. I tested it, checked with vzlist, it's seems ok. But the ssh connection to the VE broken during the live migration. Does openvz support this feature?

well, actually we even support live migration from 2.6.9 stable to 2.6.18 stable.
however, before 2.6.18 become stable I remember there were some changes which could prevent earlier 2.6.18 -> to older 2.6.18 migrations...

In your case it looks like it works, but connections were dropped?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I test it adain, live migration from test018.1 to stab021.1 works fine. But as stab023.1 released, the live migration from stab021.1 or test018.1 to stab023.1 failed.
Following is the error message.
