Hi,

When I try and run vzpkgcache I'm getting the following :

Creating cache for centos-4-i386-default OS template
/usr/share/vzpkg/cache-os: line 193: 12770 Floating point exception$YUM $YUM_CMD
ERROR: yum failed with 136 exit code
Creating cache for centos-4-i386-minimal OS template
/usr/share/vzpkg/cache-os: line 193: 12862 Floating point exception$YUM $YUM_CMD
ERROR: yum failed with 136 exit code


If I alter the cache-os to print the yum commands I can see :

Creating cache for centos-4-i386-default OS template
/usr/share/vzyum/bin/yum --installroot=/vz/root/100001 --vps=100001 -c /vz/template/centos/4/i386/config/yum.conf -y install ed basesystem coreutils openssh-clients openssh-server bind libstdc++ perl gdbm libgcc readline httpd less

This is on centos4.2 and I get the same result with either the fedora or centos templates... Any ideas?

The quirks of this system are that it's an AMD64 but running a 32bit version of CentOS and it's behind a web-proxy (I've tried setting http_proxy & the proxy config in /vz/template/fedora-core/4/i386/config/yum.conf etc).

Hmm... It's a bit hard to tell what happened -- something is wrong with yum.

Can you add 'strace -o /tmp/yum.strace.out -fF' to cache-os script so yum will be straced, and send the output here? Also it makes sense to add -d 5 -e 5 arguments to yum, so it will be more verbose.

I've attached the strace output. the -d 5 -e 5 didn't seem to make yum do anything different, but I'll have another fiddle with it.

Looks really weird.

First, can you check your rpms consistence by running
rpm -V vzrpm43 vzrpm43-python vzpkg


Second, can you use normal yum on the host system? Are your system stable enough in general and not overclocked? Have you ever experienced some other strange problems like this one?

Hi,
It does indeed look pretty strange. Rpm just gives me :

# rpm -V vzrpm43 vzrpm43-python vzpkg
S.5....T    /usr/share/vzpkg/cache-os


Regular yum runs perfectly and the system has been/is stable.

It's all a bit odd....
