No, I did not update the kernel. I know that I tried to install the x86chroot package in gentoo, but it failed because it was asking for the kernel libs. It did download the latest kernel and dropped it in /usr/src/linux in the VPS, but I did not compile it or anything.

Right now I can't see anything under /proc/ inside the VPS as it won't start.

Any other ideas?
